The
cuisine is not nouvelle cuisine. Hussein prefers to keep faith with the old,
classic French cuisine consisting of flambé dishes and dishes cooked with
exquisitely flavoured, traditional French sauces. Most of the dishes on the
menu have been personally created year by year by Hussein, and now there is
an extended menu offering a wide-ranging choice of classic dishes and
desserts. |

In winter, service is offered indoors. On
arrival or whilst waiting to dine, guests may relax and sip their aperitifs in
the comfortable and welcoming bar area, basking in the warmth and light of a
blazing Cypriot log fire. The bar, displaying mementoes of Hussein’s career, is
well-stocked with a wide variety of palatable wines, spirits, and beers, - and
here also awaits the Visitors’ Book in which acclamations abound. The enticing
Dining Room is tastefully and elegantly furnished and decorated with pink linen
on candlelit tables and with comfortable seating. Here we have fine cutlery,
spotless crockery and glassware, and service that is warmly welcoming,
professionally efficient and pleasantly discreet. There are Mediterranean indoor
plants and relaxing greenery, and soft music playing themes of love and passion,
- a truly enchanting and romantic setting. |

During the long and glorious summer
seasons in Northern Cyprus the same stylish service is offered outdoors on
the terrace. During the balmy sea-scented evenings guests can dine actually
in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower – the restaurant’s landmark standing at 6m
85cm, a model of the 320m high Parisian original. It stands above a rockery
of plants and a water feature set amongst an array of beautiful flowers.
Here you are embraced by both the mountains and the sea, and each in turn
wafts its breezes to caress you – the fragrance of carob, pine and jasmine
from the moonlit hills and the fresh salty scent of the sea from the warm
blue water of the starlit Mediterranean. |
